I LOVED getting to read "Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons" with you last week. Check out this cool video I found! Find a small object like a button and play "Who Has the Button?" Remember to use your singing voice!

I am so excited to announce that we got a response video from our friends in Uganda! Have your grown-up check their email for the link. Ask your grown-up to email your response to Ms. Bjorklund and I'll send it to our virtual pen pals...I will be sending our questions and answers back to the class in Uganda on Wednesday of this week!

Download and print this half note practice worksheet - follow the directions on each sheet. On the first page you are reading the first rhythm and writing it down EXACTLY the same in the box next to it. On the second page, you are reading the first rhythm, then making up a NEW rhythm by changing one of the beats to a different rhythm syllable.
Last week we learned about half note. Remember a half note is:
1 long sound
Takes up 2 beats
Real name half note
Nickname "too"
In stick notation it looks EXACTLY THE SAME since taking off the circle would make it look like a quarter note! #facepalm
Perform the rhythms along with the video below. What nickname do they use for half note? Is it the same or different than what we used last week? Does that change how it is performed?
